Where would be the best place to stay in San Diego?

My friend and I are driving from Arizona for a short two day trip to San Diego. I’ve only been to Coronado Island which is beautiful but we are mid 20’s looking to have some fun. We love the beach but love going out also. Money wise we don’t have much but can afford a decent hotel… So where would be a good place to stay? Thanks!

If you’re on a budget, one of the best deals for an oceanfront hotel is the Blue Sea Lodge in Pacific Beach (PB). PB also has plenty of nightlife with rows of restaurants and bars.

Also, there are dozens of moderately priced hotels in Hotel Circle. Thay are all close to Sea World, Mission Beach, Old Town, downtown, Balboa Park and the Zoo.

Well there’s hotels downtown you’ll have to see which price range fits you . But as for having fun you could check out the gaslamp . You can try checking into hotels near there.

I dont know exactly what the area is called but when I was there in April for my brothers marines graduation, we stayed at a great hotel along the bay near the MCRD (Marine Corps Recruit Depo). It was a very nice hotel and one night we walked over to a great air craft carrier (which we all took a tour of the next day) and we went to a boardwalk that had lots of stores and restraunts.

If you are going specifically to party look for a hotel downtown in the Gaslamp District. Tons of bars, nightclubs and restaurants within walking distance. If that does not not work out you can look in the Pacific Beach area but my first choice would be downtown.
