What are some of the most beautiful scenery places in southern california? Does anyone recommend any?

Since SoCal is a desert, you don’t have a lot of forest like you do in Norcal. Some of the beauty can be desert scenes, beaches, as well as urban settings.

-Sunset at just about any beach in Sucal. My favorites are Capinteria and Huntington Beach, with La Jolla and San Clemente next.

-The view of Los Angeles from above. Good viewing points are Griffith Observatory and Mount Hollywood, Mulholland Drive, and Angeles Crest Highway.

-The desert in bloom: Driving from LA to Vegas or Laughlin, the roads are lined with wildflowers in February and March. And near Palmdale, the poppy fields are in bloom.

-Despite the fact that the San Diego Trolls invade this forum and constantly put LA down, I have to say that the beaches at La Jolla are incredible, as well as Coronado Island. Laguna Beach as well, in the OC.

-Catalina Island. Life just goes a little slower there.

-Big Bear in winter. From the top of Snow Summit, you can see the snow-covered hills of Big Bear, and the deserts of Palm Springs on the other side.

-Descanso Gardens, La Cañada.

Have fun!

My top two are both located in San Diego (though I am biased for I am from San Diego)
Balboa Park and Torrey Pines Park

Drive down PCH from Newport Beach to San Diego …..although the scenery in the Carmel/Monterey area is even more spectacular. And, of course, Lake Tahoe is gorgeous!
