Lace up your running shoes and get ready to run your heart out–it’s almost time for the Coronado Valentine’s Day 10K.
This annual fun run is set for Feb. 12, but registration is currently available – and there’s a cap on how many people can run.
According to a tweet by @Coronado10K, registration is almost sold out! Singles, couples and moms with strollers can sign up before Valentine’s Day to feel a little less guilty about having that extra piece of chocolate.
Registration fees are as follows:
- Children 17 and younger: $32
- Adults 18 and older: $43
- Couples: $85 per team
Those interested in getting some exercise and having some fun with the community can register online here. Up to $2,500 in prize money will be given away to first, second and third place finishers, both male and female.
The 10K run is 6.2 miles and the course is an easy layout with flat ground. Though it’s called the Valentine’s Day 10K, it also comes at another important time for hearts–American Heart Month. February is the month to be aware about heart disease and prevention and running is a great way to keep your heart in shape.
Special rates are being offered at both the Hotel del Coronado and Coronado Island Marriott during the weekend of Feb. 11-12. Rates for those hotels will expire Friday for the Hotel del and Sunday for the Marriott. Click here and here to view the rates for the hotels.
The Valentine’s 10K is on Feb. 12 at 8 a.m. at Tidelands Park. You can click here for extra information and route maps. Make sure to take advantage of registration early, as only 2,000 racers will be allowed in.
