How can I make my trip to San Diego romantic?

I am taking a new found girlfriend on a weekend getaway to San Diego. How can I make this trip romantic? Where should we stay? What should we do? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

One of the most romantic things to do in San Diego is to go on a picnic at Presidio Park. Buy some wine or champagne, salads, strawberries and whipped cream, it’s a beautiful place. And don’t forget to dress up. I also recommend a seaside walk at La Jolla, followed by a drink (or meal, if you can afford it) at La Valencia hotel (beautiful place, with antiques and great service). Another beautiful place to go: Hotel Del Coronado (or Hotel Del, as they call it) on Coronado Island. For a drink or a meal, and you can also go to the beach there.

Visit http://www.sandiego-romantics.com. This website is all about romantic things to do in San Diego.

You’ll find the top ten romantic date ideas, great places to stay, and romantic restaurants. Some of my personal favorites – kayaking through the caves in La Jolla and roasting marshmallows on the beach in the evening.

Tourist shopping at Seaport Village followed by Ice Cream at the Ben and Jerry’s. Maybe go for a spin hand in hand on the carousel.

Go to Old Town, walk around, buy a bag of taffy at the Candy Store, You try on Sombreros and get her to try on Mexican flaminco dancer clothes.

While you’re here, walk along Presidio Park (you could propse to her here and she’ll probably say yes, just because it’s so beautiful and quiet here).

Balboa park has lots of interesting gardens and walking spaces that you could enjoy together:
