Powerball is here.
The long-awaited debut of the multi-state lottery game and its bank-busting jackpots arrives Monday morning when California Lottery machines begin selling Powerball tickets across the state.
The first drawing to include California will be on Wednesday for a jackpot estimated at $60 million, since nobody won Saturday night’s drawing. The minimum jackpot is $40 million.
California joins 42 other states that participate in the twice-weekly lottery that can generate jackpots over $100 million, with the record jackpot reaching more than $585 million last November.
Powerball tickets are available at many liquor stores and other businesses—find one close to you in the business directory.
