More than one-third of United States residents have already been vaccinated against the influenza virus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Monday. With National Influenza Vaccination Week, which started last Sunday and ends Saturday, health officials aim to increase that percentage, especially since this year's season may be a bad one. Influenza—more commonly known as simply "the flu"—is a contagious respiratory illness caused by viruses infecting the nose, throat and lungs. It spreads via infected people coughing, sneezing or talking, though people can also get infected by touching something with the flu virus on it before touching their mouth, eyes or nose. The 2012-2013 season is shaping up to be one of the worst flu seasons in a while, off

My fiancé and I want to get married on base in California but he's not based here so we don't know of any nice chapels or bases here. He's in the army so we're looking for an army base or a joint base. Help me please I'm a civilian so I can't just walk on base an look around by myself and he can't leave Virginia until July. So I'm on the hunt by myself. There are a couple bases in Southern California (although I can't speak to the niceness of their chapels): Camp Pendleton, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Naval Air Base Coronado, North Island, MCAS Miramar, just to name a few. If you're willing to go a little more north, there's Point Mugu, Vandenberg Air Force Base, the Presidio in Monterey, and the Naval Postgraduate School. Each chapel/denomination has its own counseling requirements, and

In March, my husband and I along with my parents and children are going to California for vacation. We are spending half of the vacation at Disneyland and the other half at San Diego. I was wondering if there were some "must sees" in San Diego or the surrounding area. It will be my first trip so I want to get the most out of my trip. Depending on your interests, I would recommend the following: 1. The San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and Legoland. Legoland is located in Carlsbad about 30 miles north of San Diego and is a favorite for young children. The zoo is fabulous and the Wild Animal Park lets you view the animals in a more natural environment. 2. Drive to the top of Mt. Soledad for a great view of San Diego and the coastline. This is not far away in La ...
I'm trying to put together a Top 10 list of the best cycling events, bike rides, courses, etc for San Diego, CA. Let's hear from you on Yahoo Answers, and I'll use your feedback in the Top 10 lists I'm developing. I'd come up with the list myself, but would love to hear from the whole Southern California cycling community on this one. Appreciate your feedback. I like cycling down Mount Soledad and around La Jolla or Coronado Island. More info: http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/bicycle-tours.html
