If experience is one of the factors to success, consider Daniel Arnold a winner. Arnold, 14, has volunteered at the Poway Midland Railroad since he was five years old. He began by punching tickets and playing the "assistant conductor." Now, he's a firemen on the steam locomotive—a role he considers "more of a mature role on the railroad." But that isn't all. Arnold's interest in trains recently led the high school freshman to become one of the 15 finalists in the Google International Science Fair this summer. Board of Supervisors Approves Redistricting

Here's a roundup of news from San Diego County for the week: 1. New districting in San Diego will take effect with the 2012 county Board of Supervisors elections. An ordinance to redistrict the county was approved at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. The change came about as a response to the public. Many districts will remain the same, but a few have changed, including La Jolla and 4S Ranch. A full list is available on the redistricting website. 2. Statewide prisoners will be begin being transferred to county facilities. In accordance with Assembly Bill 109, low-level state prisoners will be moved to county jails in order to combat overcrowding in many of the state’s prisons. This is the whole length of State Route 75. Going northbound. Route Description: State Route 75 is a short, 13-mile (21 km) expressway in the U.S. state of California. It is a loop route of Interstate 5 in the Barrio Logan Community in San Diego and the route ends at Interstate 5 in South San Diego near San Ysidro. It includes the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge, a bridge that traverses the San Diego Bay and directly passes through Coronado with the mainland, continuing down along the Silver Strand, a thin strip of land, before joining back with Interstate 5 in Imperial Beach. Carmel against Poway and a meeting of unbeaten teams matching East County's Grossmont High against South Bay's Mar Vista hightlight this weekend's high school football calendar. No. 4-ranked Poway leads the all-time series with the neighboring Sundevils 25-11, including last season's 36-32 win at Mt. Carmel, which renewed the rivalry after a two-year hiatus. Mt.
